Results:
Oola ladies' footballers make the long trip to Athea on Saturday evening to play the first round of the intermediate football championship. Despite the recent rain, the pitch was in excellent condition allowing both team to contest a fast and open game. There was never much between but Athea held a slim lead entering the last five minutes. Quick thinking from Kathleen Bradshaw resulted in a goal from a free for Oola, and Ellie Bourke added a point from another free to give Oola a two point lead entering injury time. Despite some strong attacks from Athea, the Oola defence held out for a hard-earned win, on a score line of 2-10 to 1-11.
Oola scorers: Ellie Bourke 0-6; Anne Bradshaw 1-1; Kathleen Bradshaw 1-0; Ruth O'Dwyer 0-2; Gemma O'Dwyer 0-1

Oola Senior Footballers travelled to Clarina on Sunday evening last where they faced Ballysteen in the championship.  Ballysteen ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-5
